Girl acquires puppy. Puppy inspires girl. Girl picks up a camera... and Rouxby Photography is born. Roux, Rouxby's Rhodesian Ridgeback namesake, isn't a puppy anymore, but she continues to serve as able muse for the talented, self taught, Claire Bow. Admittedly, I may have some sort of subconscious bias towards creative types who also adore Ridgebacks, but canine preference aside, I love the vivid color, narrative composition, and heavy use of focus in Claire's animal photographs. It's juicy, playful work that has clearly matured over the last few years and I look forward to seeing many more chapters in the book of Rouxby.
